Services of Directorate of Steam Boilers

• Submission of application along with,
  • Duplicate copy of maker’s papers or Photo copy of maker’s paper if any.
  • Challan for requisite fee
  • O/C of original maker’s papers, in case it is collected by Applicant.
• Scrutiny of ‘Duplicate’ with O/C of original makers papers.
• Issue of Duplicate after review by Director.

• Submission of application by new owner along with requisite Receipted Challan for prescribed fees and letter from seller for confirmation of sale.
• Review by Technical clerk, Technical officer & Director.
• Physical data update & letter to new owner.

Any firm seeking grant of approval under purview of IBR, shall obtain approval from Department.

• Submission of application along with,
  • Replies to the questions (Available on site in the System)
  • NOC for the activities of firm, from local authority.
  • Copy of power sanction letter electricity bill.
  • Copy of plan of machinery layout.
  • Name of activity category under which approval is sought.
  • Few photograph of plant & machinery.
  • Challan for requisite fee.
  • Copies of welder’s Certificates where applicable.
• Scrutiny by Technical assistant /Technical officer
• Review by Director and on approval inspection for verification of facility at site, checking of competency.
• Review by Director.
• Review of inspection report and issue of Approval letter.

Firm approved for any activity under Indian Boiler Regulations,1950 by this department shall submit their application for renewal of their approval, before expiring date of their approval. i.e.31st December, in case of manufacturer and laboratory every year or part and 31st March, in case of Pipe Fabricator or Boiler Repairer, after every two years or part.

  • Copy of approval / last renewal
  • Chalan for requisite fee.
  • List of work done during last year/two year.
  • Change in machinery, manpower, welders(wherever applicable) etc.
  • Copies of newly appointed/qualified welders(wherever applicable)
• Scrutiny by Tech. Asst. / Tech. Officer.
• Review by Director and generation of renewal letter or forwarding letter for verification.
• Dispatch/delivery of renewal letter (in case of renewal without verification) i.e. based on work done.
• Visit of verification and submission of report by officer.
• Scrutiny of report and generation of renewal letter by T.A. / T.O. after receive by Director.
• Delivery / Dispatch of Renewal Letter.
