To cater needs of small scale industries, small industrial boilers are useful. They deliver good quality of steam and are more efficient than Exempted Boilers. Advantage with small industrial boiler is that no boiler attendant is necessary to operate this boiler.
These boilers are annually inspected by officers of Director of Steam Boilers. Limitations of these boilers are, in case of Shell type boiler water holding capacity & working pressure are limited to 500 Ltrs. & 7 kg/cm2 respectively. In case of Water tube boiler water holding capacity & working pressure are limited to 150 Ltrs & 12 kg/cm2 respectively.
Super Critical Boilers are the boilers which operate at steam pressure higher than critical point. Critical point is 22.064 Mpa, 373.946 deg cen. at this point latent heat of evaporation is zero & there is no difference in density of steam & water.
Supercritical boilers are being installed in the state of Maharastra & this supercritical technology is future for power generation in the world.
To avoid the accident while inspecting the boiler/boiler parts, all officers are hereby informed that, one officer while carrying out inspection of boiler at Gharda Chemicals fell into the boiler and was injured. All officers after their appointments are given guidelines about precautions to be taken while inspecting the boiler. All officers should take following precautions for their safety.
